Once Upon a Starry Night

Hmmm....what shall we do tonight? Let's go hike Angel Rocks! It's like 9:00 at night! And da-da-da-dark outside! Yes, we are weird like that! You've got to remember that my family does strange and spontaneous things like this late at night/early mornings :). So we left church and went home to change our clothes, eat and get some stuff together for our adventure! After picking up Barrie, we headed out for the 1 1/2 hour drive to the well known hiking spot called Angel Rocks. We barely made it out of the DRIVEWAY when we heard a *thump* . After we all regained our composer from laughing...we got out of the car to look at the muffler and tail pipe that had just fallen off of Barrie's car (that Micah was driving). Sooo....after tying it back up there with wire, we were NOW off to our great adventure! You've got to realize, by now it's like 10:00. Oh, and we also stopped twice along the way to take pictures.

So, we finally made it to our destination! And it was cold...we haven't yet been broken in for our cold weather. Now for the real adventure (I think i'm using the word adventure too many times :D)! oh well. We were VERY thankful for our ONE flashlight! If we didn't have that...we'd probably still be up there! Ok, not really....well I probably would be (i have NO sense of direction).

We decided not to go to the very top because....well, i'm not really sure why..haha. So we went to the first rock and sat there for a long time...eating, talking, taking pictures and watching an amazing show!!!

Ready to hear about the most AWESOME thing about the entire trip?! THE STARS!!! They were absolutely breathtaking! There were millions up there! The sky was a midnight blue with bright lights all around it. What a God we have, that can and did create that! It makes me wonder....how on earth could anyone NOT believe there is a God? Really? Could that of all happened from a "big bang"? On top of the amazing star show....Barrie and I saw 6 shooting stars! How cool is that?! The most i've ever seen in a night is 2 and I thought that was killer awesome! But 6?!?! I think God was purposely throwing those out there that night just for us :)! It was sooo cool! Oh! And on top of that, we saw the northern lights :)!

After being up on the rock for awhile, we decided we should probably start hiking back down. Some people had to work the next morning...what in the world! As we're heading back down, they all supposedly saw a comet :). I guess I can believe them since i'm the only one who didn't see it. I was too busy watching where I was going :).

Job 22:12
Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!

Genesis 1:16
And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

Psalm 8:3
When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

Psalm 136:9
The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Psalm 147:4
He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

We have alot more pictures of that night....but somebody.......*cough Jordan cough* hasn't given us his sd card with all the pics on it...terrible.

And by the way, we got home at 2AM :D. Had some great bonding time...so glad we went!
